- Duration: 75 Minutes (approx.)
- Location: Halls Creek, WA
- Product code: HCWC
The scar of an ancient meteorite event, Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater and its surrounds are astonishing from a bird's eye view.
- Departing Halls Creek, your pilot takes you south, crossing the edge of the Albert Edward Range. Much of the rugged terrain below is part of extensive and active pastoral properties.
- Passing over Ruby Plains Station the flight enters the expanse of the Great Sandy Desert where two rivers weave their way across the desert like life-lines. In the distance the lonely shape of Wolfe Creek Crater emerges from the desert floor.
- Following numerous orbits of the crater allowing for extensive photo opportunities, a course is set northward, passing over significant features such as; Sawpit Gorge, Black Elvire River, Palms Spring oasis, Ruby Queen and Mt Bradley gold mines.
- Our return journey showcases China Wall - a lengthy vein of exposed Quartz which seemingly divides the Old Halls Creek Township and present day Halls Creek.
